WINTER/SPRING
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Serra Media is looking for
some fresh perspectives and top-notch talent
to contribute to our mission. You will help us build interactive
digital
platforms that local publishers, independent news start-ups and
university programs use as part of our internship
program.
You can earn course credit
for the assignment, if needed. You can also
work remotely if you don’t happen to live in the Seattle area.
(Previous interns worked from Brazil, Mexico, Los Angeles and
Portland.) But the top three benefits of scoring
a Serra Media internship are:
- You will learn a lot
about the new media landscape
- You will do work that
matters
- Your efforts will
produce demonstrable results for local new Web sites that you can brag
about in your next job interview.
To apply, send us an email
pitch with links to your
blog or examples of your work and tell us which type of position you
are most interested in. Your choices:
Community cultivator: Grow a
meaningful, constructive community of Web users through outreach,
participation and creativity.
Code ninja: Use your PHP, CSS or
Drupal skills to help develop
software-as-a-service that helps local websites innovate, grow
traffic, increase interactivity and even make more money.
Marketing maven: You will use your
social media skills to network with current customers and help clients
find new customers and spread awareness for Serra Media's innovative
digital platforms and the websites being built with them.
Your pitch must also
include the following:
- Date you can start
(Jan. 2, 2010 at the earliest)
- Number of weeks you can
serve (ideally between 12-16)
- Number of hours per
week you want to work
Send email to: ideas@serramedia.com.
Deadline: Dec. 12, 2009.
